This is now the 2nd year that I've done the fast and once again I experienced incredible results and life long benefit. We unfortunately didn't get to be present in church as much as what we would like because of flu season but the spiritual, physical and emotional benefits we received are here to stay. On the physical side, I lost 17 pounds in 21 days staying true to the Daniel fast. On the spiritual side, I read the daily devotional and prayed harder than I ever have before. When you remove so many things from your life, it's easier to connect with what really matters. I found a peace during the past 3 weeks that was magical. On the emotional side, happiness was the overwhelming sentiment I felt during the fast. Thank you for being true community leaders...

Through fasting, praying with the body, the Word, and time with Him, God has lifted my eyes off the very difficult situation around me and fixed them on Him. This is something I have struggled with throughout my walk. He has proven his faithfulness and love. He has proven that He knows the unknown, and I can stand firm, relying on Him. He has rewarded obedience and sacrifice, and he is developing the self-discipline that He already placed in me. The enemy has told me for years that I have none. God is working all around me, and while there is still so much unknown to me, I can rest in Him with complete peace. I have also learned that He has a purpose for me, NOW. Letting go of things I never had any control of to begin with has freed me up to do what He has for me to do. Today. Now. Here. We have a part in what He is doing in Rome. I pray we all stop being distracted by the fiery darts of the enemy and set our focus on Him, so that we can see redemption for our city.
